hortense

Hortense

1 QUEEN bed, 1 double, 1 bunk (queen) & 2 and half bath

Ideal for Families of 3 to 6

Description:

With a newly renovated kitchen, refurnished bedrooms and living room, Hortense is popular among guests who are ready to ride. Located directly across from the corral, Hortense is perfect for families with children who want to rise and shine with our horses. With a wonderful deck off the side of the cabin, you can easily watch the little ones as they come nose to nose with the best animals around.

History:

Hortense is named after one of the many silver mines found in and around Chaffee County in the late 1800’s. Located in Saguache county, Hortense Mine opened in 1872 and was a booming and prosperous haven for mine workers. The remains of the mine still stand in the Sawatch Mountain Range, just down the highway from Deer Valley Hot Springs Ranch, though it is located on private property.
