Majestic Mountain Views
Chalk Cliffs
Located at the top of the ranch and setting the wonderful backdrop for Deer Valley Hot Springs Ranch are the one-of-a-kind Chalk Cliffs. These cliffs are directly embedded into the side of Mount Princeton and are a wonderful hiking destination for guests of all ages. Legend has it that there are gold bars and other treasures located in the cervices, giving the cliffs an air of beauty and mystery, encouraging many guests to hike up and explore the lower reaches of the area. Though named the Chalk Cliffs, they are made of granite from which all other minerals have been leached, giving them a chalky texture and the ability to crumble when pressed.
Mount Antero
Of the two mountains that surround the ranch, Mount Antero is the most visible, with nearly every cabin on the property offering a spectacular and breathtaking view of the local 14er. Providing scenery that inspires paintings, Antero makes up the southern side of the valley, rising another six thousand feet above the ranch. Guests have the opportunity to scale the ridge that juts out from the mountain by horseback or hiking to reach Raspberry Gulch, situated on the eastern side of the mountain. The whole area offers spectacular sight-seeing through the valley and a peaceful area to escape into the wilderness.
Mount Princeton
Mount Princeton is one of the many local fourteen thousand-foot mountains, commonly referred to as 14ers. The mountain sets the expectation for arriving guests as it rises directly across from the main access road to the ranch, becoming the most prominent sight many guests will remember from their stay at Deer Valley Hot Springs Ranch. With the ranch located at the southern base of the mountain, guests will experience Mount Princeton in ways many others, both locals and tourists, are unable to. A multitude of trails extend across the side of the mountain, allowing our ranch guests to explore and adventure across Mount Princeton at their leisure.
Sport Courts
Our Sport Courts are a multi-use court system that includes a new surface, two basketball hoops, and a full tennis, badminton, pickle ball, and volleyball net system. This invaluable addition to our summer programming also allows our retreat groups and expeditions to enjoy another engaging layer of Deer Valley Hot Springs Ranch.
Hot Spring Pools & Hot Tubs
Centrally located on the ranch are two swimming pools* and two outdoor hot tubs, all fed with refreshing hot springs water. Deck chairs invite book-reading and napping. The sounds of children playing Marco Polo remind you that it is okay to just relax with no agenda. The hot tubs are a delight at any time, and they’re especially inviting at night under the spectacular star filled sky.
*Pools are open year round and may operate on a split schedule.
Lodge and Lodge Deck
Our historic Lodge is the beating heart of Deer Valley Hot Springs Ranch. Our ten cozy lodge rooms are joined with our communal living room. In the evenings the Lodge is often filled with guests connecting around the indoor fireplace or relaxing with a cup of cowboy coffee.
The iconic Lodge Deck has been hosting square dances for over 65 years. It’s the perfect spot to catch a Deck Lunch or a nap between adventures. And we may be biased, but stargazing on the Deck rivals any other location in Colorado!

Centennial Hall
Centennial Hall is the heart of many activities on the ranch. The deck offers a great view of the ranch and the Chalk Cliffs and it’s the perfect spot to catch up with an old friend or make new memories.
Cornhole
If you are looking for a fun activity to play on a quiet afternoon, try our corn hole boards. Grab a cool drink and stop by the corn hole boards for a friendly competition with family or some new friends. If you an experienced player or new to the game, this is a wonderful place to relax.
WIFI
Due to the location of the ranch and its placement within the valley, traditional phone service and internet service are extremely limited. While some may see this as a dilemma, we encourage guests to take advantage of their time at the Ranch to unplug and enjoy time with family in the outdoors.
However, we understand that internet is a necessity for a number of our guests, even when on vacation. Because of this, DVR has WiFi available in select locations across the ranch. The most reliable WiFi is found in the Office, Lodge, Centennial Hall, Lickety Split Saloon, and select accommodations.
