David Johnson
President/CEO

David has been leading and developing people for over 20 years. Having a successful career as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service and as a business owner, David was called into pastoral ministry and leadership over seven years ago. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree at Denver Seminary and has a passion for all things outdoors. Creating the Project 2411 platform and utilizing his gifts of communicating gives him the opportunity to develop individuals with the Colorado Rockies as his office. While not in the mountains or at a retreat building into an individual’s life, David resides on the ranch property with his wife Shannon and their four children.

Brock DeWalt
General Manager

Brock and Brenda are the parents of five children: Levi, Halley, Cora, Daniel and Jordan. They met many years ago when Brenda started vacationing at Deer Valley with her family as a child. Brock, the middle son of Harold and Sue, is now ranch General Manager; Brenda is in charge of the Deer Valley Trading Post, and works in the ranch office. As a family, they look forward to sharing their home with ranch guests. You are likely to see Halley, Cora, Daniel and Jordan enjoying the kids’ and teen programs. If you’re interested in fishing, Brock and Levi will be your guides to beautiful high mountain lakes!

Brock DeWaltGeneral Manager

Bev Jackson
Office Manager

Bev has been at Deer Valley since 1990 and oversees reservations, groups, and guest relations. She and her husband Blane, who helps in DVR’s kitchen in the summer, live a few miles from the ranch. Bev enjoys hiking to high mountain lakes with their two golden retrievers. She loves snow, dogs, reading and spending time with her four grandchildren.

Jessica Woolmington
Food Operations Manager

Jessica grew up on her family’s cattle ranch, Circle 23, near Buena Vista. She is the daughter of Bob and Sharon Woolmington. Prior to being in charge of the kitchen at DVR, she spent four years as a catering manager with Panera Bread in Denver. Jessica loves to cook, read and hike to high mountain lakes with her dog, Gracie.

Jonathan Shea
Youth Programs Director, Adventure Coordinator

Jonathan joined the Deer Valley Team in 2016 as the adventure and youth programs director. A native of Washington state, he grew up hiking and climbing in the Olympic and Cascade mountains. When he is not on the ranch, he can usually be found rock climbing, drinking coffee at the Roastery, or camped out at his computer with Photoshop.

Dave Burtness
Maintenance & Ranch Hand

“Big Dave” has been a fixture at Deer Valley off and on since 1978. He is truly a “ranch hand”, doing every kind of job from building a fire in the lodge to shoveling snow. He enjoys driving a good team and dreams of the mountain man way of life.
